My Story
B&D's Cafe and Grill are an independent Cafe, based at Ballards Walk in Basildon. We will be raising money all month, with dedicated posters and digital screens around the cafe raising awareness of Basildon Mind and the services they offer.
We chose Basildon Mind because 1 in 4 of us will have a mental health issue this year. Whilst affiliated with national Mind, Basildon Mind is an independent charity helping people in our local community to have better mental health and wellbeing for more than 50 years. Basildon Mind listens, gives support and advice, and makes sure that everyone who experiences difficulties with their mental health gets the respect and support they need, to stay well.
Customers are able to donate in-store with a collection pot or online with QR codes across their cafe and online platforms.
We open everyday between 8am-2pm, serving up Full English Breakfasts, Homemade Classic Lunches, Sandwiches, Toasties and Paninis, Omelettes, Jacket Potatoes, etc. With employees and customers within the community being supporters of Basildon Mind.
We are launching this alongside our new Community board, where local businesses/charities and members of the community, are able to pin their cards and posters, with a small voluntary donation being encouraged to our charity of the Month.
